Testing

Reading – Listening – Vocabulary

A. Now it’s time to check where you stand, whether you have learnt enough to qualify for the B2/C1 level. First try the following tests. If your score is 80% or more, you can continue to one of the level tests. If your score is less than 80%, we advise you to do some more exercises on the sites that are listed in weeks 1 to 9.

Test no. 1 is a general test of English. First decide what the answer is and then click the box for the correct answer. There are 4 pages, when you get to the end of exercise 1 you can go to the next page. http://esl.about.com/library/weekly/aa061401a.htm

Test no. 2 is a 100-question test to check your business English. You don’t need any further instructions. Good luck! http://esl.about.com/library/quiz/bl_business_level_test.htm

B. Now test your listening comprehension by clicking the link below. Read these instructions before you click the link!

  1. Select Listening in the menu, then click the button Take test now at the top of that page and then Start test on the next page.
  2. Click on the speaker next to the questions to hear the audio.
  3. When you’ve heard the audio and answered the question, click next.

It’s getting more and more difficult as you get along. http://www.test-your-english-now.net/

C. We advise you to do one or more of the following level tests. These tests offer good practice and provide an indication of what your level is like. It should be B2/C1, both for listening and for reading. Please note that these tests do not offer any conclusive evidence of your level.

Test no. 1 (link below) offers 15 MC questions on English grammar and vocabulary in general and a listening test. Both tests should be completed in less than 10 minutes. http://www.examenglish.com/leveltest/index.php

Test no. 2 (link below) offers 25 MC questions to determine your level. Click Begin Test. There is no time limit, but we advise you to try and finish it within 15 minutes. http://www.cambridgeenglish.org/test-your-english/business/
